EPISODE RELEASE DAY!  EPISODE RELEASE DAY!

April is all about Lake Toba, Sumatra and today we happily release Part Three of our Season Two Episode Three adventure simple titled, Jungle Juice:

Quickly, Jungle Juice is the locals’ nickname for Tuak, a palm wine that is created daily by one lucky villager who has the recipe, wherewithal and motivation to do so.  As the sun sets, the men of the village will meet, drink and sing songs.  It’s a marvelous way to spend the evening.

Randall continued his inability to hold any sort of liquor and made an absolute ass of himself in front of the manly locals.  Within minutes of his first sip, he offered to demonstrate a dance in his wooden shoes.  As Randall danced on the table, the locals laughed as they loudly and obviously mocked Randall’s choice in footwear.  Some grabbed hammers and pretended to pound in nails as he danced, others brought out their lighters as though they were going to create a fire to cook the chicken.  Randall, oblivious to the sort of attention he was receiving, relished in the admiration and continued to dance.  The show abruptly ended when Randall knocked over a pitcher of Tuak and was then left to hang from a nearby palm tree until the evening was finished.

Still tons to come from Lake Toba including photos, blogs, songs and podcasts.

Also, on April 15th, On The Beat and Path and Bored of Directives will be releasing the 2nd installment of our WINDOWS TO THE WORLD series with LAKE WEEK.  If you had the opportunity to enjoy MOUNTAIN WEEK then you know what WINDOWS TO THE WORLD is all about: stunning screen savers that move slightly and offer interesting, at-times comical takes on our travels.  If you didn’t see Mountain Week (“Love’em Or Hate’em, You Have To Admit, They’re Pretty Big) you can get caught up here:

Lake Week (“Lake’s Can Get You Damp and Leave You Moist”) is coming April 15th.  Get ready.  Note: apologies for the overuse of the word “moist”.  Vanessa loves that word.

Next week I’ll start up again with the music Appreciation 101 with Tom Waits’ Swordfishtrombones.

In the meantime, Catch Us Live Somewhere on this Planet.

Peace,
Steve
