Rumble In The Jungle

On The Beat and Path
Production Blog
Day 123, April 6th, 2011

Things are wonderfully hectic in the BOD offices as we are prepping for what will no doubt be an epic documentary we are about to produce.  The planning stages are well underway and stay tuned for more info as we go through the process.  Think the Rollings Stones’ “Exile on Main Street” meets Ali’s “Rumble in the Jungle” but in Cambodia.  Sounds intrging?  It is.  Randall is merely confused.

We have placed a new song on our CBC RADIO 3 Page (radio3.cbc.ca/#/bands/On-The-Beat-and-Path) called Fare Wheater Friend.  It’s a mellow jam with acoustic guitar, bass and sax.  We were trying to capture the feeling of the friends one meets while traveling on the road.  The temporary but wonderful friends.  Give it a listen.  Besides, you should really sign up for CBC Radio Three, their radio player is amazing and you can add ON THE BEAT AND PATH for bonus updates from our studio.

Clips from our Sumatra Episode are out and Part Three will go live tomorrow. You can see everything here:

Lake Toba (Sumatra) was one of our more interesting shoots.  The people are amazing, the music unique and catchy and the atmosphere of the Island is extraordinary.  I am often hesitant to share pieces of heaven because once people do just that, the specialness begins to drift away.  But Lake Toba is a place everyone needs to visit.  Plus the locals are very excited for your arrival.  Just fly to Medan, Indonesia, hop on a bus for 6 hours to Parapat, take a boat on Lake Toba to Samosir and head to the Tuk Tuk peninsula for some R&R, good music and great food.  See?  Easy.

A new audio welcome will be online very soon on our official site so go and be welcomed!  Plus, stay tuned for some great additions to the Steve Northcott Stand Up Comedy Page.  Randall is thinking about trying his hand at Stand Up Comedy during a future TIME OUT COMEDY THURSDAY.  This is something I whole-heartedly endorse.  It will be akin to enjoying watching someone getting hit by an elephant.

Catch Us Live Somewhere on this Planet.

Peace,
Steve
